Technology Demo - Getting Started
There is no requirement to register to try out this
demo. However, you may get more out of it if you join the other
testers on our Discussion boards. You can read the
boards without being registered. .
- INSTALL: You simply unzip this file to
create a “Kyresoo” folder at a convenient location. The game
doesn’t use a Windows installer, and makes no changes to your
system. To uninstall, simply move the folder to the trash. For Mac
and Linux, see the System
Requirements page.
- VERIFY: Once you have the Kyresoo folder
unzipped on your hard drive, find the “tools” folder within it.
Start the "transplanter:" Start the "labtray" tool. If both of
those start up Ok, your installation is good..
- TROUBLESHOOT: If you have trouble getting
Kyresoo started, see the Troubleshooting page for answers
to some known problems.
- TUTORIAL: Go to the First Steps page to get
started with some of the Kyresoo demo tools.
- FAQ: As the world isn't much like
anything else out there, I would suggest at least reading the FAQ for some background information.
- SURVEY: Please take a few minutes to record
the performance of your computer as described on the System Survey page. Thanks.
Carrying On
Like any early release of a complex MMOG,
the demo version is best suited to someone who is a
documentation junkie, or at least knows someone who is. The plant
model is deep and I think interesting, but you willl have to read
about it to understand it. And the world model exists only as a text
description at the moment. So please take some time to read about
this new world. A suggested reading order for the documentation is
posted on the forums here.
